Genderaction

This animated explainer video was created through a collaboration with the 'Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences' as part of the research dissemination efforts for the European Union research project 'Genderaction'.

This 3-minute explainer video showcased above,  is part of a series of various animated videos, each one representing a different aspect of this ‘Horizon’ research project. This first episode of the series focuses on the role of funding agencies in the promotion of Gender Equality in Research and Innovation.

The animation offers extensive information on how gender equality can be improved in this area and what are the steps, actions and policies that need to be followed by the funding agencies in the EU member states in order to achieve that. At the same time it raises awareness for the project among citizens and stakeholders across the globe.

Due to the amount of information given in the film and its longer duration, it is broken down into various sections, each one highlighting a particular problem and proposed solution. Additionally, each section is in turn narrated by a male and female voice over artist. Including both genders of voice actors in the film, enhances the notion of inclusivity and equality. Finally, during the production process of the animation, we made sure to also incorporate character designs that feature different ethnicities.
