Plastic Free Beaches

‘Plastic Free Beaches’ is an animated commercial created as part of the ‘Keep Our Sand and Sea Plastic Free’ campaign by the Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative (CSTI). The aim of this awareness campaign was to inform the public about the first official Plastic Free Beaches on the island. Additionally the campaign wanted to inspire people to support this initiative by visiting these beaches and help in keeping the sand and sea plastic free.

In order to effectively communicate the message of the campaign, the animation incorporates elaborate designs that realistically depict both the environment and the characters. The illustrations of the different beaches featured in the animation are based on real locations that have recently obtained the “Plastic Free Beach” distinction. Additionally a variety of characters designs have been developed in order to achieve as much diversity and inclusivity as possible. Thus broadening the appeal of the commercial to a wider audience.
